Father Z recently wrote a piece about blasphemy and the way in which President Obama is depicted.
And a good friend of mine just gave me a heads up about this. Did you know that Obama pardoned the turkey this Thanksgiving with a sign of the cross. It was a flippant gesture, I’m sure. But it really does rub me the wrong way because to this man – the most influential and powerful man in the world – religion is a punch line. Bitter clingers and all that stuff.
This is a man who’s attacked the Catholic Church like no other president before him. Fr. Z said “I have occasionally quipped here that during Obama’s third term, men like me will be hunted down and dealt with.” I wonder if Obama will pardon Christians like he did the turkey.

The saddest thing is that "Catholics" are the ones who will think it's funny. And "Catholics" don't care because the priests and nuns have not been teaching the faith for the last 50 years and they have no love for the Church anymore. And the bishops could care less and would never speak against this blasphemy. But then again if anyone would dare to criticize the president a protest would start, led by "catholic" congressman and senators standing on the steps of the Capital building all making the sign of the cross of a bunch of turkeys while tearing up pictures of the Pope. Then all the Hollywood freaks would join in and just make it really bad. I wonder how long it will be until Obama makes all Catholics wear a patch on their clothing with a papal tiara and keys identifying them as Catholics.

Thank you for airing this matter; I was afraid I was the only one to notice Dear Leader's unfortunate attempt at humor. And let us hope that's all it was; with this regime one never knows.

"And 'Catholics' don't care because the priests and nuns have not been teaching the faith for the last 50 years and they have no love for the Church anymore."
That comment is not fair, sir/maam. No one is to blame but parents. Parents have the number 1 responsibility to raise their children, not a priest or a nun. They are only enablers / resources. And if they have no love for the Church anymore, why did they devote their lives to it? Don't be just another nay-sayer.

"Turkey pardons Obama with the Sign of the Cross". Now that would be funny!

Fitz, you're right but it would be nice to see priests who stand up for orthodoxy like Fr. Marcel Guarnizo and Fr. Michael Rodriguez be given the respect and appreciation they deserve. Ultimately, it is parents who must instill values in their children from the early years.

"I wonder if Obama will pardon Christians like he did the turkey."
No comparison. When one turkey pardons another, it's professional courtesy.
