Sad. An old Jesuit has been told not to celebrate Mass as he took part in a Mass with a womyn priest. In an interview with NCR, he seems to keep saying that he remembers when women didn’t have the right to vote and compared that to ordination.
But there’s a right to vote, not a right to be ordained. The whole thing is sad.
A Catholic priest who participated in a eucharistic liturgy with a woman priest last month has been ordered to no longer celebrate the Mass or perform any other priestly duties. Jesuit Fr. Bill Brennan, a 92-year-old Milwaukee-area priest, said the superior of his religious community told him of the restrictions Nov. 29, saying they came at the request of Archbishop Jerome Listecki. Brennan, a retired parish priest and former missionary to Belize, participated in a liturgy Nov. 17 with Janice Sevre-Duszynska, a woman ordained in the Association of Roman Catholic Women Priests movement.

He remembers when women didn't have a right to vote? So he is over 100 years old?

Paul, you beat me to it. I was just about to say wow, that's some memory since the guy is 92 years old and women got the right to vote 92 years ago (well, got the right to vote in 1919, but didn't get to actually vote until 1920). Remarkable memory, that.

Even a Jesuit ought to be able to distinguish between a transient state(even Rome perished; St. Augustine wrote a big ol' book about it) and eternal verities.

When will the Editors of America Magazine join the NCR in open defiance of Church Teaching? Soon???

I thought America magazine had been openly defiant for many, many years. And, of course, that wasn't a Mass or even a convincing "take-off" of one.

So what? Women aren't allowed to be Navajo masked dancers, either—and men can only be Korean shamans if they do rituals in drag.
You only have to let everybody play if you assume it's all a game.

Thank goodness this priest didn't wear Roman vestments, say Mass in Latin, give communion to people kneeling, and preach about the authority of the Pope….. he wouldn't be suspended the Jesuits would have thrown him into the gutter. At least this way he has a roof over his head, food on his table, money in his pocket and women to wash and iron his clothes and clean up his suite of rooms and he can still spew his hate about the Church that gave him everything. The Jesuits are so understanding.
