I don’t understand anything anymore. New York Times columnist Paul Krugman advocated death panels in a synagogue of all places. And all he got was some giggles. What the heck is going on? Wouldn’t you think that of all places, a synagogue would be the last place you’d advocate death panels. But no.
The offending part starts at about the two minute mark.
If you have a very low tolerance for all things Krugman as do I Breitbart has the quote:
Eventually we do have a problem. That the population is getting older, health care costs are rising…there is this question of how we’re going to pay for the programs. The year 2025, the year 2030, something is going to have to give…. …. We’re going to need more revenue…Surely it will require some sort of middle class taxes as well.. We won’t be able to pay for the kind of government the society will want without some increase in taxes… on the middle class, maybe a value added tax…And we’re also going to have to make decisions about health care, doc pay for health care that has no demonstrated medical benefits . So the snarky version…which I shouldn’t even say because it will get me in trouble is death panels and sales taxes is how we do this.
Mind you, it didn’t get him in trouble. It got giggles.

They think "death panels" is a joke term, like how conservatives jokingly call things racist. I'm guessing it ain't an Orthodox synagogue.
Will they still be laughing if the Glorious People's Healthcare decides the Ashkenazi Panel is too much of a liability, and puts them at the back of the line for life-saving procedures?

I suggest that everybody read the following…especially the first highlighted link:

"Progressives" will sacrifice the vulnerable on the altar of their own ideology, because ideology is the only think that matters to these people.

The uberklasse don't understand that this will apply to them, not unlike Stalin's old comrades being arrested and hustled off to show trials or the gulags when they were no longer useful.

The progressives will be especially vulnerable because they'll have too few children there to defend them.

Americans will probably need to accept the fact that after the age of 65 or so, avoiding Doctors altogether is likely to be the best prescription for staying alive.
The British NHS Care Pathway for the terminally ill is a death sentence for anybody over the age of 70 and its held up as a model by Krugman and his ilk.
Perhaps a black market in truly compassionate medicine for the elderly will develop.
