Yep…….you have finally brought me to the realization that my own vacillating on what was or was not said or what was or was not inferred is called DENIAL.

This is HUGE you are correct. The wink and nod given alone will be enough to outdo what contraception did. I see this as an attack on marriage……………this time it's not from the secular world, it's from the INSIDE of the Church of Christ!

You are correct, Doctrine CANNOT BE CHANGED. But that's not the point here. Of course the Holy Father will not even think of changing Doctrine, but his inference alone that "I'm OK you're OK" is going to be enough to sew confusion in the Church as badly if not worse than has been evidenced in the prior 40 odd years since Vat ll. I just read a post by an Anglican that crossed over the Tiber a while back……..he now states he doesn't know where to go….he left the Anglican Church because of this kind of dissent and became Catholic, and now "The Church of Rome is starting to go the way of the Anglican Church, so now where do I go?"
The damage done by his permissive comments that are made so very public will (I'm afraid) be MONUMENTAL.

Raymond Arroyo has covered this subject twice in a row now on two consecutive nights in his coverage from Rome for the Canonizations. The night before last, Fr. Barron and two others were tripping over their own tongues trying to refute what they were also confused about. Last night Raymond interviewed Cardinal Burke who is of course doing his best to say we don't even know what was actually said, and that the Church will NEVER change the protocol. They are trying to down play this, but I'm afraid the Holy Father already has too much baggage behind him in other press interviews and also by his tipping his hat to Cardinal Kasper with his dissenting views on the subject. That said, the Holy Father did come out with a statement reiterating the Church's stance on the permanent state of marriage, for what it's worth, but I am wondering if the damage is already done.

Rand Paul HAS A 0% NARAL RATING. For a non-Catholic, I think he did a VERY good job in articulating that we need to change the conversation and perception about abortion before the govt can begin to draft bills (which will never become laws if not supported). The arguments and medical "evidence" supporting abortions are antiquated and unsupportable given our present knowledge and scientific advancement. Once the dinosaurs of the 60's die off, it should be much easier to reason with the younger generations through facts. But as Rand points out, this is a societal problem which cannot simply be legislated away.

Yes, it has. It brought us from losing Roe 7-2 to losing Casey 5-4 to winning Gonzales v. Carhart 5-4. One more net gain and we will likely have the votes to overrule it. Two more, probably. Three, certainly. Four, and it's game over. By contrast, a net loss of one will be an enormous setback.
