New data from the 2021 census shows that England is quickly morphing into a godless hellhole with few or zero redeeming features, other than John Cleese.

OK, the census didn’t exactly say that but…it pretty much said that.

The Daily Mail: Some 27.5 million people in England and Wales described themselves as Christian on the day of the 2021 census, or 46.2 per cent. This is down from 33.3 million (59.3 per cent) a decade earlier and is the first time the proportion has dropped below a half.

The percentage of people saying they had no religion jumped from around a quarter in 2011 (25.2 per cent, or 14.1 million) to over a third in 2021 (37.2 per cent or 22.2 million).

That’s definitely worth a mention. Obviously, the number of Muslims, Hindus, and Sikhs rose because of their need for immigration.

Um…why do they need so many immigrants again? Oh, that’s right. It’s because they stopped having children. And why did they stop having children again? You think maybe that’s tied to the loss of Christianity?

How much of this is also due to Christians getting a bad name in the media and from politicians? It could be that calling oneself a Christian no longer helps you. In fact, it probably hurts you in Britain today in many places. So people who weren’t really aligned with the faith any way no longer claim to be Christian because it’s of no benefit anymore.

It’s interesting to me that the census didn’t include pagan or Wiccan as options. This is a massive growing trend. In fact, “some 0.7 per cent of people in England and Wales (405,000) chose to write in the name of a religion that was not listed as one of the main choices. Among these, 74,000 people wrote pagan, 26,000 Alevi, 25,000 Jain and 13,000 Wicca.”

That’s a lot of people going to the bother of writing in that they’re pagan or Wiccan or believe in some weird crystal stuff. The real numbers are far greater.

It is my contention that Big Atheism should not be the worry of Christians and Catholics but paganism and Wicca have a strong foothold on young people.

The Daily Mail includes a sidebar titled “The shamans of the shires: Tenfold increase in Brits following trendy new-age creed.”

“The creed, which has its roots in ancient Siberia, was followed by 8,000 last year, up from 650 in 2011 to 8,000 in 2021.

Though it was originally based around a person who went into a trance-like state to communicate with the spirit world, self-proclaimed shamans have gained a following in recent years.”

To be clear, that’s 8,000 people willing to write down on a government document that they believe in shamanism. Almost 100,000 publicly declared themselves to be pagan or Wiccan even though that wasn’t even offered as a possibility.

The numbers are likely a great deal higher.

England is descending into paganism. Make no mistake about it.

As the great comedian Norm Macdonald once wrote:

The Enlightenment turned us away from truth and toward a darkling weakening horizon, sad and grey to see. The afterglow of Christianity is near gone now, and a stygian silence lurks in wait.
