As I explained previously, Texas is working to protect its southern border with razor wire. The federal government under Joe Biden or whoever is actually in charge, is coming in after them and taking down the razor wire. To make matters even more crazy, the Supreme Court sided with the federal government.
Governor Abbott is saying he will not stop or back down. This is not a minor thing. Does Texas just continue putting up the wire and allowing the feds to dismantle their efforts or do they stop them? If they plan to stop them, what does that mean? You can say stop. You can stand in front of the razor wire. But at some point the shoving will start and at some point guns will be pointed. That, to me, almost seems inevitable at some point if both sides continue down this course.
On Wednesday, Abbott posted a statement on X saying that the federal government had failed to protect Texas from invasion, as is set out in Article IV Section 4 of the Constitution and he invoked Texas’ “constitutional authority to defend and protect itself.”
According to Abbott, this authority “supersedes any federal statutes to the contrary.”
Because Governor Abbott has invoked Article 1, Section 10, Clause 3 … other states are now able to enter into agreements with Texas to help handle the invasion that Texas is dealing with.
Other states may now send troops and/or equipment to aid in halting in the border invasion.
Will they send help? Troops?
This seems like it could be something. Keep your eyes on this one, folks. And don’t trust the media on this at all, not that you ever would.

There will be no Texit.
But there is a huge constitutional crisis, no thanks to Amy Coney Barrett, that hopefully will not escalate between a confrontation of the US Army and the Texas National Guard and allied State Guards.

I think we’ll see more states do what Iowa has done and send their National Guards down there in rotating shifts to relieve the Texans. I think more states should sue the federal government for dereliction of duty. One of the biggest reasons we federalized after the Revolutionary War was to be better able to deal with international crises and wars. This situation is certainly a crises and it has be brought on by the federal government’s active decision to neglect its duty to defend our borders.
I’m beginning to wonder if RFK actually stands a snowball’s chance in you-know-where as an independent. If Trump gets the nomination and Biden is the other side’s candidate, RFK could likely swoop up a ton of votes from moderates looking for someone competent who won’t shoot their mouth off.
