How does MSNBC think turkeys end up on their plates on Thanksgiving? In this humorous video of a turkey being slaughtered behind Sarah Palin after she ceremoniously granted one amnesty, MSNBC is horrified. Read the mocking words this alleged news organizations rolls under her. And in the end, despite this being a humorous incongruity the anchor obviously takes this video very very seriously. But once again the joke is on MSNBC. Are they so separated from reality that they don’t understand that turkeys have to be killed before it can end up sliced thin on their croissant?
Once again, while they mock Sarah Palin the joke is on the media. (Things get ugly about 2:30 in.)

Fantastic find here. If I didn’t know better I would think this was satire. MSNBC has become a self-parody.
I wonder what they’d think if they knew that video made me hungry.

It is a satire…duh.

I don’t know – “Turkeys die as Governor Palin takes questions from media” ? I don’t know if that’s so ridiculous it *must* be satirical, or it’s so weird it must be true!

The fact that it was Countdown suggests to me that it was serious. I wonder if PETA sponsored that segment.
SERIOUSLY MSNBC, do you think all animals are vegetarians?
My question is why does the media think everyone is on the 3rd grade level and treat them as such?

This is the most bizarre thing I’ve seen the media do. Why would anyone be shocked by this when pictures of palin shooting moose and caribou are found everywhere. She isn’t phased by this because nobody cares. I’m not a hunter and I didn’t find it disgusting. I’ve killed a chicken for lunch before, big deal. If it wasn’t me it would have been someone else. And they’re just birds.

Vote for a man who promotes the murder of children then get squeemish about turkeys??? Whacked really whacked.

Ma Tucker, Great point. Amazing how they compartmentalize their squeamishness.

It's a parody guys…the segment was introduced by the voice of Stewy from the cartoon Family Guy, saying it was "earth-shattering news." How much more do you need to recognize satire?
You all are starting to remind me of this: http://insidecatholic.com/Joomla/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=3334&Itemid=48
This segment is PARODY. It is HUMOROUS. Listen to the voice of Stewy at the beginning.

They are appalled at the sight of turkeys being slaughtered for Thanksgiving dinner, but will defend the right of women to kill their own children with their last dying breath. It’s mind-boggling, isn’t it?
November 21, 2008 at 4:57 pm
Eo,
This is not parody. They used the cartoon voice because they don’t take Palin seriously. They are mocking Palin. They called her “oblivious.” They’re making fun of her.
November 21, 2008 at 4:58 pm
Eo,
It is not parody.
They may have been making fun of Palin, but it is not satire or parody. They are making fun of Palin because they think that she is too stupid to know how reprehensible this is.
That is not parody. They really think there is something wrong with this.
You, on the other hand….
November 21, 2008 at 5:43 pm
They DID mention that this is where the Thanksgiving meal comes from, but then they blame her for walking out and into a crowd of reporters…who already have their cameras trained on the slaughter grounds?
It’s not Palin’s fault…it’s the fault of the cameramen and reporters who clearly knew what they were doing.
She probably knew well what was behind her…it wasn’t her mistake. It was theirs.
November 21, 2008 at 5:52 pm
I’m speechless. I wish it were, but this is obviously not a parody. They might mean for it to be “lighter news” as evidenced by the cartoon voice, but they do think it is news. SHOCKING, SHOCKING news at that.
And to think I consoled myself after the election with the thought that at least the MSM would leave Sarah alone for a while. The fact that they just. can’t. stop. proves what a threat they see in her and all she stands for.
November 21, 2008 at 6:46 pm
so…get the kids out of the room when we make food, but keep the kids IN the room when we show you gay rights marchers kissing each other… MSNBC’s world is upside down.
November 21, 2008 at 6:52 pm
Danielle,
They know a threat when they see one. They’re going to keep attempting to bring her down every chance they get. They are unhindered by any sense of decency or proportion when it comes to Sarah Palin.
November 21, 2008 at 7:30 pm
Well, the MSM clearly doesn’t think it’s a joke: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/21/palin-interview-causes-stir/
I think EO owes an apology.
November 21, 2008 at 10:24 pm
Actually, I feel let down. After all the build-up by the commentator, I was expecting to see turkey slaughter ala ‘Tree of the Wooden Clogs.’
November 21, 2008 at 11:09 pm
I long to see a head of state take the stupid turkey out with a .22 in the front of the appropriate government building, hand the carcass to the cook, and say “Let’s have this critter for lunch.”

MSNBC shows that it is on the same maturity level as Mike Myers’ character in Wayne’s World. Showing embarrassing comments about his guest was funny in the movie, but one would expect more maturity from a news organization. Or my four-year old.

Dear God!!! This isn’t a parody, despite the Stewy voice! The Stewy voice makes it worse!
I couldn’t tell that it wasn’t a parody! What’s happening to this world when real reports can’t be distinguished from parodies!?
