Northland Family Planning Centers of Michigan are advertising their services with newly created videos which calls abortion “sacred work.”
Sacred? Sacred is defined as “entitled to veneration or religious respect by association with divinity or divine things; holy.”
The video is part of a series of videos highlighting their abortion services and states, “We believe in the goodness of our work.” The spokesperson points to a sign hanging in the abortion clinic that says “We do sacred work that honors women and the circle of life and death. When you come here bring only love.”
The clinic says that abortion while being a “normal experience” and sadly that is true as there have been over 45 million abortions since its legalization as the video points out. But the spokesperson goes further and says that abortion is also “a sign of strength courage and responsibility to thoughtfully consider whether or not to bring new life into the world.”
The video highlights a quote from murdered late term abortionist Dr. George Tiller and showcases it against a pink backdrop with a heart behind it while a soft piano plays in the background.
Abortion is not a cerebral or reproductive issue. Abortion is a matter of the heart. For until one understands the heart of a woman, nothing else about abortion makes any sense at all. Dr. George Tiller 1941-2009
The clinic’s spokesperson assures women, “We believe you are making your decision from a place of goodness” and reminds them that “Goodness is not perfection, not obedience and it is not martyrdom. There is not one way of living a good life and sometimes we have to make hard choices.”
The clinic’s website tells mothers about some ways of coping with abortion including “releasing a symbolic object into the water, planting a tree or writing a poem. It would be a way for you to memorialize the day and move forward.”
They also suggest writing a letter to “the spirit of the child.”
Many women find they are talking to the spirit of the child inside of them. It may be useful and helpful to write your thoughts on paper. Some women write how they came to their decision, some ask for forgiveness. Some thank the spirit for the wisdom or thoughts they have had about life. Some write about the love they feel. Sometimes, having a way to say goodbye is an important part of healing.
But the clinic warns women about where to go to find answers.
“Remember: Go to factual and supportive sites. Use our Resources, or Choice Link Up. Avoid the negative traps of anti-choice sites.”
I’m sure they wouldn’t want their patients reading sites that don’t think their clinic is quite so sacred.
Abortion is the result of the absence of love – love which is good, holy, sacred.
Update: As of 5 p.m. on Friday, it looks like the Northland clinic has pulled the video. All the attention of thousands of thousands of folks forced them to pull it. That’s good news.
Update: I found another copy and posted it on Youtube.

How dark is the Ignorance of a wounded Society that uses Fantasy to avoid pain, at the cost of our most precious resource!! Oceans of "rationalizing" an absolute HORROR like Abortion doesn't negate one drop of TRUTH that MURDERS our children, all in the name of self-rights!! God help our society so blind and rebellious, that actually believes we can avoid such dire consequences!!

Shameful excuse for the murder of the unborn.

I will admit, I could not watch this whole video, as the feeling in my gut (and pregnant womb) was unbearable. The lies under a 'new guise' of 'love' and 'matters of the heart' are so sickening, that all I can think of is the quote from Scriptures: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter." Isaiah 5:20

Very twisted and disturbing! Talk about spin doctoring.
Although, this video spin on calling evil good reminds me a lot of how some fellow pro-lifers spin the evil of those who support the killing of babies conceived in rape, incest, or an alleged risk to the life of the mother. They spin it to make it sound like a "good" thing that some so-called pro-lifers only want to kill those babies.
Have you heard this before? "Yeah, but they support saving 99% of babies from being killed!" Or "those babies ONLY make up 1% of abortions". How twisted is that! That's like saying Hitler supported not killing 99% of the world's population so that makes him a good guy. Or that "Jews only make up less than 1% of the population". No one in their right mind would go along with those statements, then, why do some pro-lifers use the same evil spin as the woman in this video?
64% of those who are labeled as "pro-life" believe killing babies conceived in rape, incest, or for the life of the mother is a "good" thing. They are good people since they only want to kill 1% of babies. Talk about spinning. The woman in this video is the least of our problems when we have such evil tactics so wide-spread among our own troops.

Anonymous,
I think that the vast majority of pro-lifers are willing to accept, for the time being, a law that limits abortion to cases of rape, incest, or for the life of the mother, so long as it eliminates the other 99% of the cases NOW. Once that is accomplished, we can work on the remaining 1% (which will then be 100%).
Instead of an all-or-nothing approach, this starts saving lives immediately. I'd rather prevent 1.1 million abortions per year, and then work on eliminating the remaining abortions.

This video is just SICK!!! How can you push garbage like this. It is ridicules that someone can feel ok with this in any circumstance! Especially if you know the process (gruesome). I have a friend Ive know for years now, who was kidnapped and raped. She understood and respected the sanctity of life enough to not deny another the precious gift of life. That infant has grown into a beautiful little girl!!!

(In all sarcasm:) We all now must know that it's a fetus before the abortion, but a child afterward, when it's time to try to get past what has been done.
That they do not see the abundant irony of this approach shows how truly blind they are.
Also, "abortion" for the life of the mother is not abortion. Nor is it good. It is a case where the only option is to save *at most* one of the two parties, because both cannot survive. You would try to save both if you could. That is a tragedy, but it is not an abortion. For a mother to refuse life-saving measures is heroic, yet not obligatory.
At the same time, when the pro-life side concedes the rape and incest exceptions, which have no resemblance to the above (because both are able to be saved — nay, neither is in imminent life-threatening danger!), we undermine our entire philosophical foundation over that "little" 1%. We shatter our own credibility.

Those of you who have been in the prolife movement for some time remember when the anti-life people were dismissing unborn children as "blobs" and "parasites" that had to be excised from the body. Now they are admitting that these babies are living beings, but it's okay to kill them as long as you have the approval of the Great Options Counselor In The Sky first.
Somehow, I long for the good old days. To have people admit that it's okay to kill your own offspring — yes kill — for convenience is very, very scary.
