I’ve been saying recently that Pope Benedict XVI is heading into enemy territory in “Post-Christian” England. Sadly, I may be more right than I imagined.
A member of British Parliament says he fears violence at an open air mass with Pope Benedict XVI after an Islamic publication called Muslims to attend the Mass to convert Catholics and “tell the Pope in no uncertain terms what Muslims think of his evil slanders against the last Prophet of God and his message.”
I think it’s the “in no uncertain terms” that’s making some a little nervous. Oh, the same publication also called the Pope “evil.”…Continue reading at the National Catholic Register>>>

Dear God!
Having read the Koran, these specific words used are a CLEAR call to violence. Let's pray there is none. I'd hate to see the aftermath of that.

I had no idea Muslims took after Jack Chick-like fundamentalists. We don't "worship" the Pope, Muhammad himself had intercourse with pre-pubescent girls (straight out of the Koran!), and Benedict didn't condemn the "prophet" as he later explained. When your own propaganda is dependent on fountains of disinformation, almost everybody knows your ideology is bunk!

Tom – Mohammed the pedophile having sex with his 9-year-old child-bride is not "straight out of the Koran!" but from the ahadith and sunnah (his life story). I'm only correcting you as I want all my Catholic bretheren to be well-informed on this subject so we remain credible when dealing with Mohammedans.
I've been to many outdoor events, rallies and even protests in the UK. To their credit, the London police force is usually very good at crowd containment and protecting people. They will most likely have designated areas for people to protest the mass, to evangelize (my guess is not only will there be Mohammedans but a GAGGLE of babbling fundies condemning the Pope as the anti-Christ) as well as the other random atheists, anarchists etc. And usually these areas are just out of earshot of the event, so they can break a blood-vessel shouting (no bullhorns allowed) without effecting the main speaker.
But it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

"…but from the ahadith and sunnah…" (Hadith)
Yes, Aisha, his "Best Buddy's" daughter who he "dreamed" about when she was 4 or 5 years old, married at age 6, and consummated marriage with at age 9… and that just in Islam's official stuff. Mohammed's pedophilia was very extensively-documented (and defended).
So if the punishment for the "worst" sin in Islam – disbelief – can be death, what will these people think they should do to a Pope "guilty" of "evil slander"? ("Tell them in no uncertain terms".)
E.R. I certainly hope that your description of previous London events holds true for this one as well. Maybe some blood vessels will be broken, but let's hope not.

Jimbo – one hadith, two ahadith : )

AAAAAAhhadith!
God bless you!

Oh hey and one more thing: Do you expect the London police force to be in Birmingham for this event? Isn't Birmingham quite a bit more of a rough city – more like Manchester? Harder to control?

Jimbo – for such a high-profile figure, there will be an excess of security wherever the Pope goes in the UK. Regardless of any politician's personal feelings for him, they wouldn't want anything happening to him on their watch as their PR was bad enough after 7/7. Since then, they've really stepped things up and been proactive about dealing with threats before they occur when events are planned.
But as you say, we should all be praying for the Pope.

You never know what some lunatic might do, but any enemies of the Pope would have plenty of opportunity right there in Rome to cause him harm if they wished. But I doubt they would – why make him a martyr and inflame others against you? Muslims are winning the demographic war, why blow it now by doing something stupid?
