Nancy Pelosi is an embarrassment to herself, to Catholics, and to Congress. You’re not going to believe what she just said or more accurately what she couldn’t say because it might impede her support of the sacrament of abortion or at least impede they way Big Abortion funnels money into Democrat coffers by the millions.
Nancy was unwilling to pin down a time when Jesus’ right to life might have kicked in.
CNS reports:
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), a Catholic, publicly stated earlier this year that she had a duty to pursue policies “in keeping with the values” of Jesus Christ, the “Word made Flesh.” But at a press briefing last week, when reminded of this statement, Pelosi declined to say when Jesus got the right to life.
“Whenever it was,” said Pelosi, “we bow our heads when we talk about it in church, and that’s where I’d like to talk about that.”
Later, when asked in writing through her press secretary whether the speaker believed Jesus had a right to life from the moment of conception, the press secretary responded: “The speaker answered the question. Thanks.”
Remember this is the Nancy Pelosi who lives for The Word. I guess The Word had to wait to be born until He had a right to life.

EXCOMMUNICATE ALREADY! Gosh.
August 3, 2010 at 10:26 pm
Let's offer some prayers for Madame Damnfoolidiot.
August 3, 2010 at 11:03 pm
I think the word that Madame Damnfoolidiot intended was "Bird."
August 3, 2010 at 11:06 pm
"Surfin' bird", by the Trashmen, more recently made famous by Family Guy's, Peter Griffin. That's her cup o' tea.
…bird, bird, bird is the word, everybody's heard about the bird…

She says she would like to talk about it in church, so let's ask her then. Can't the presider invite her up to clarify herself? If she is so Catholic, shouldn't she want that chance to prove herself?
August 3, 2010 at 11:09 pm
She is no idiot. She, like her mulatto President, is keenly aware of what she can and cannot say to fool the masses and get away with Murder. Shrewd, calculating, manipulative, and deceiptful. But not an idiot.

"like her mulatto President"…?? Why not "her President"? That kind of random invocation of race when race isn't at issue makes an otherwise perfectly appropriate comment look like the comment of a paranoid racist. Just FYI. Trying to keep us on track here. Because she is a scary nut. (A scary white nut, for whatever it is worth.)

Big 10-4. I haven't heard the word "mulatto" used seriously in a long, long time, unless it was somebody butchering their order at a coffee shop. I think one of our local shops may also offer Scary White Nut (hint of macadamia).
Seriously, though, why drag the racial comments into a discussion where the real issue is more along the lines of heresy?

Like most politicians, she uses religion when it's convenient for her.

"Whenever it was, we bow our heads when we talk about it in church, and that’s where I’d like to talk about that."
That's how you talk when you don't give a damn about truth. It reminds me strongly of C.S. Lewis' apostate cleric in The Great Divorce.

I don't blame her. I blame the her bishop and the Pope who won't excommunicate this public, scandalous, and disgusting betrayer of her faith.
What on earth can you be excommunicated for these days, if not for this?
Cojones. Get some from Sarah Palin if you're short a pair.

I've heard my pastor say that Jesus was incarnated at Christmas. Seems what you can't see doesn't exist. Any female who has carried a child will tell you that the baby makes his presence known quite awhile before his presence is seen.

"'Surfin' bird', by the Trashmen, more recently made famous by Family Guy's, Peter Griffin. That's her cup o' tea."
Why not. After all, she's been giving us the bird.

"I haven't heard the word "mulatto" used seriously in a long, long time, unless it was somebody butchering their order at a coffee shop."
Well, one word is much more efficient than saying that his mother was white and his father was black, but so goes the use of vocabulary in our culture.
Your point is well-taken about the word being off-topic in my comment, but it goes to point out that it's not correct to say that he's the first black president (we all know that was Bill Clinton), a point which Obama supporters use to deflect any and all criticism of his policies on the basis of "racism." That tactic has recently been used, with infuriating success, by the NAA(L)CP et al, against the Tea Party.
I would expect to see the racist moniker used against pro-lifers, as pro-aborts are already attacking Alveda King:
http://womensrights.change.org/blog/view/anti-choice_movement_co-opts_history_of_civil_rights_era
I could go on about how this administration is fomenting racial divisions in order to distract from its agenda, but I fear I've already hijacked the combox off-topic enough.
August 4, 2010 at 5:55 pm
Mulatto is a correct term, but that it doesn't mean that he is NOT black! It means that he is BOTH black and white!
Also it isn't just so much off topic as completely irrelevant to mention his race at all. Who cares? Your point was that Pelosi is no idiot. But so what has her President's skin color got to do with it? I don't think you meant any harm, but that didn't come across too well. Not to beat you up about it, but just so you know.
August 4, 2010 at 6:01 pm
Mike – to second Midday and Anon, the Mulatto comment was off-topic and unnecessary. And just to remind you, he's OUR "Mulatto President" as well; whether we voted for him or not (I did not). That's what living in a Democracy means.
Incidentally, while Obama is "Mulatto", he is also "black" and/or "colored" according to Jim Crow and the "Black Laws" formerly in place. So, I really wouldn't go there if I were you.
August 4, 2010 at 6:54 pm
Anon, you're right, it was irrelevant to this conversation, and off-topic, as I've already admitted. Yet nonetheless accurate. Obama's own racial or cultural identity changes depending on his audience. He is bi-racial when it suits him, post-racial when it suits him, black when it suits him. He has used racial tensions in this country, just as shrewdly as Pelosi uses Catholic rhetoric in the abortion debate, to his own political advantage. I have no problems with him for being black, bi-racial, or post-racial; I just wish he'd pick one and stick with it. (Coincidentally, I also wish Pelosi would pick God or Mammon and stick with it– and no, I'm NOT conflating the two choices)
@Early Riser, yes, he is THE President. I respect the office he holds and begrudgingly respect him for holding it, but that's where my respect for him ends. His policies and devious actions regarding the unborn, his bulldozing of the legislative process, his disregard for the American people, his incompetence and arrogance, all make me say that personally, no I do not consider him my president.
August 4, 2010 at 7:08 pm
I sort of agree with Blackrep. Regardless of any private conversation she has had with Popes and Bishops, she has never been publicly rebuked for what she says publicly. Ezekiel 3:18-19. (God said to Ezekiel) "When I say to a wicked man, 'You will surely die,' and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sin; but you will have saved yourself."
August 4, 2010 at 8:10 pm
Joe – agreed. And the reason for that is because she/we have one of the worst "lavender brigade" bishops in the country. He is covertly very supportive of Pelosi's agenda on…er…other issues. Do you remember when Pelosi misrepresented Catholic teaching on abortion on TV and the good bishops of the US fell over themselves in rebuking her? Well, he-who-shall-not-be-named only did so a week after the fact, and begrudgingly, which amounted to "um…yeah, I guess I'm supposed to side with the church on this one…but I still really really like you…AND THOSE PUMPS! You're looking FABULOUS, GIRLFRIEND".
Mike – silly semantics. Unless you renounced your US citizenship, he is YOUR president as well. A crash course in civics 101 will confirm this.

The hypersensitive race police are becoming a sad joke.
