Marjorie Dannenfelser of the Susan B. Anthony List along with a number of other leading pro-lifers like Lila Rose and Brian Burch of Catholic Vote just sent a public letter to Congressman John Boehner thanking him for all he’s done to get the House to successfully vote on a bill to defund Planned Parenthood.
But….(and this is kind of a big “but”) the SBA List is also kindly reminding Congressman Boehner that they’re not here for moral victories. Not now. Not ever. The days where pro-lifers thank elected officials for their good intentions are loooooooong gone. Symbolism isn’t for people who are trying to save babies. The SBA List wants results, not truces, not promises. They’re saying turn off the spigot of federal funds to the most corrupt organization in the United States, Planned Parenthood. Now.
Congress has never had such an opportunity. Seriously, if not now when? Lila Rose has outed them ON VIDEO as corrupt abettors of sex trafficking. Phill Kline has shown them to be performing and covering up illegal underage abortions. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie has defunded them.
Now is the time. Don’t poll it. Don’t think of it as one option among many. Don’t think of it as something to be traded for something else. Defund Planned Parenthood. Now.
Or else.
In the words of Arnold:
Here’s the text of the letter with the list of signatories.
The Honorable John Boehner
U.S. House of Representatives
Washington, DC 20515
Dear Speaker Boehner,
Planned Parenthood, a scandal-plagued abortion organization, must be held accountable for abusing innocent young victims while receiving hundreds of millions in federal dollars each year. They must be defunded of federal tax dollars, and now is the time to do it. The House vote in support of Rep. Mike Pence’s Amendment No. 11 to the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations Act, 2011 (H.R. 1) to prevent government funding for the nation’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood, is an excellent start.
However, the House vote on the Pence Amendment is nothing more than symbolic unless it remains intact through the legislative process. Defunding Planned Parenthood must be a non-negotiable in the Continuing Resolution and we urge you to accept nothing less than this outcome.
The fact that Planned Parenthood was caught aiding and abetting sex traffickers proves that it is not safe for women and young girls. What goes on in offices and clinics of Planned Parenthood, as Live Action’s videos show is both saddening and shocking. That it has often been done using taxpayer dollars is indefensible.
As the largest abortion company in the United States, Planned Parenthood repeatedly refuses to comply with state statutory rape reporting laws, and often ignores parental consent laws.
Just this week, Phill Kline, former Attorney General of Kansas, testified under oath that Planned Parenthood of Overland Park and the late abortionist George
Tiller performed abortions on a combined 166 girls, age fourteen or younger. Out of the 166 cases of statutory rape, just two were reported to authorities, Kline testified. As debate over the Continuing Resolution continues we urge you to do everything you can to ensure that the Pence Amendment remains intact in the final version of’ the Continuing Resolution. Planned Parenthood is not safe for women, it is not safe for young girls, and it must be defunded now.

Not only is Planned Parenthood among the most wicked organizations in this country, it is incredibly wealthy- making the fact that it receives federal funding all the more sickening.
By the way, does anyone know when Planned Parenthood first started receiving government money? Interesting to know…

No soul comes into being except through the will of God. Abortionists repudiating self-evident truths repudiate their citizenship and have no legal standing in a court of law. Not one penny of my tax dollar is to be used for abortion or Planned Parenthood. Atheists and abortionists with no legal standing in a court of law are here to learn not to lead.

Tax dollars remain the possession of the taxpayer even while being administered by the administration. Government in and of itself cannot own anything. All is owned in joint and common tenancy and held in trust for all future generations, our constitutional posterity, by each and every person who is a citizen, but not outsiders. Atheists and abortionists as well as pornographers, all criminals, have repudiated their citizenship by renouncing our founding principles enumerated in The Declaration of Independence, and violated the human dignity of the newly begotten sovereign person who constitutes our sovereign nation through his personhood, newly begotten by our Creator.

Mr. Boehner, tear down this law!

Won't happen. If the Republican weasels didn't defund them during the 6 YEARS they controlled both houses of Congress and the Presidency, they certainly aren't going to do it now.
Although it makes for some good talking points at election time to get the pro-life rubes to vote for you again (and again and again and again).

Your demand is the kind of purist nonsense which fractures good working relationships and political alliances. Democrats are proving in Wisconsin they'll willingly go down the drain and suffer the consequences in 2012 (which they don't believe they'll incur) for hanging tough on public sector union collective bargaining. You KNOW they'll do no less to preserve abortion "rights."
We will fail to get the votes in the Senate, and even if we did, Obama will veto and shut down the government. Democrats believe a government shutdown will deal a devastating political blow to Republicans like it did in 1995, and they'll dare us to do it. Wisconsin has them hot and bothered about making grandiose if politically suicidal (for 2012) moves on the barricades.
I think they're wrong but their willingness to "die" politically is why we won't defund PP this year or next. There may be a way to do this with God's grace ONLY, but I can tell you it certainly won't result from strong-arm tactics like those in the letter to Boehner.
You're putting the accent on the wrong syl-Abul, folks. It'll consume time, energy, and misplaced focus – a waste. Instead, brainstorm about a REAL strategy to set up the actual battle in 2012 – not a stomp-our-feet maneuver like this one. This move is the kind of pure amateurism one expects from a feel-good gambit like this.

Our so-called "champions" blinked yesterday.
