I don't know how this guy made this trailer, but I thought it was terrific. LOVE that he asked her father for her hand! I wish all men still did that. I know I told my husband I wouldn't say yes unless my father did first!
That was an amazing idea! As per Ranting Catholic Mom's observation
that now the bar has been raised for the bride-to-be, I can think of
one thing she might try… Imagine the young couple at the movies, the
previews come on, and the man hears the strangely familiar voice of a
woman conferring with her doctor as he tells her she is expecting…
As for that Early Riser character, wasn't he shown the door from this
blog a while back?
Call me a skeptic, but I hope they put as much or more energy into preparing for the marriage as they did the proposal. Guess being in the bridal industry and watching Bridezillas a few too many times gives me cause to be leery. Somehow, public proposals make me queasy. Sort of like being intimate, really intimate, in public. I hope their marriage outlasts the surprise emotion and can weather the tough times.
I'm all about asking for a woman's hand in front of Our Lord, Tito. That is beautiful and can't be beat. But 1) maybe this couple isn't Catholic and 2) I think it says something about a guy if he can put his pride on the line, humble himself a bit, and take a big chance in front of a crowd. That speaks volumes.

OK it had me speechless there but wow, this is so cool. And so sweet 🙂

Dude,
That was a bad mistake! You just set a standard that no man can live up to. Now she will expect it all the time.
Better to have your wife think that you are a heartless beast, that way when you do something little and slightly romantic, she thinks it is great.
Rookie mistake.

Sorry, but I thought it started to drag a bit. the whole getting to the theater part was way to long.

Patrick, Yes he set a standard, but he also raised the bar. I think he knew what he was doing. She has to meet that bar too!

Anon, What are you the Roger Ebert of marriage proposals?
May 18, 2011 at 11:24 pm
Thumbs up! But I was kinda hoping he would have fought a team of ninjas on his way to the theatre.

Here's another good movie trailer proposal: http://youtu.be/38GZtp333GY

That doesn't beat my marriage proposal to my wife. It pales in comparison by several leagues.
I asked my wife to marry me in front of the Blessed Sacrament!

Ooooh, Tito… yeah, that's pretty hard to beat.

Matthew – Early Riser's comment is totally inappropriate – you may want to delete.

Yes please delete Early Riser. That was a cute marriage proposal. And Tito, your proposal was awesome too.

Santorum 1. The frothy mix of lube and fecal matter that is sometimes the byproduct of anal sex. 2. Senator Rick Santorum.
