Hot Air Pundit reports that the governor of Florida just signed legislation requiring welfare recipients to take a drug test. Said Governor Rick Scott, “While there are certainly legitimate needs for public assistance, it is unfair for Florida taxpayers to subsidize drug addiction.”

Well, I can solve this issue quite easily. What if all drug addicts on welfare stated publicly that none of the funds they receive from the federal government would go to drugs? If they guaranteed a firewall between their drug money and taxpayer money then we’d be assured that no taxpayer money was going to drugs.

If they stated this, much like Planned Parenthood says no federal funding goes to abortion, then we could all rest easy at night, right?
