Thomas Peters does a great job of digging into the truth about the lesbo-fascist denied communion at her mother’s funeral.
Turns out, she is not even a Catholic.
As reported by Newsbusters
In a paper for a master’s degree she’s pursuing at Kutztown State University, Johnson wrote of interviewing with a principal at a Catholic school in Maryland in which “we talked openly about my being a lesbian and a Buddhist.” (She also declared she took the job “with all the zeal and enthusiasm of any natural born agitator who every now and again enjoys challenging the status quo.” This status quo she also called the “socially constructed heteronormative culture” and an “insidious heterosexist paradigm.”)
Nasty piece of work, this anti-Catholic lesbo-fascist. She used her own mother’s funeral to pick a fight. Stick that up your heterosexist paradigm.

I didn't understand why she got an apology – if she's openly in a lesbian relationship then she shouldn't receive the Eucharist.

I wonder when the Archdiocese will issue an apology to the priest, who did the right thing to deny her communion.

I'm wondering as well when the Archdiocese will apologize for throwing a faithful priest under the bus. I think this is something that they (archdiocese) needs to know.

I sent the same info, and the link to Ms. Johnson's papers, to the office of the Archdiocese and to the priest six days ago.

I hope there isn't too many Archdiocese's like this one in the US; if we can't back up our priests when they enforce basic church law, how are we going to win the war we're now engaged in?

Just listen to the crickets……The sound of the mea culpa from the Chancery

"socially constructed heteronormative culture"
Ha! These Rosies are a hoot!
Bishop Barry Knestout, you've been punked by the socially constructed lesbionormatives. Apologize to your priest.

I'm glad "anonymous" spoke up. This information about Barbara Johnson being a Buddhist was first revealed by commenters at The Deacon's Bench, and several bloggers (myself included) picked it up and talked about it on our blogs (my post was Feb. 29). So, as much as I appreciate Thomas Peters and his decision to post the same info (same link, even, as far as I can tell) that was posted by several other bloggers over a week ago, I just don't get how this information's inclusion at Catholic Vote is so newsworthy or game-changing, and I suspect that neither the diocese nor the MSM outlets that ran the initial story care enough to offer a correction–or they would certainly have done so when the "Buddhist" information first surfaced.

Not that I disagree or disapprove, but… "Lying Lesbo-Fascist"?
Whenever I use that sort of invective on my blog, someone comes along pretty promptly to tell me not to use such language. Why doesn't that happen here?

ProudHillBilly said: "I didn't understand why she got an apology – if she's openly in a lesbian relationship then she shouldn't receive the Eucharist."
The answer is because the bishop is a coward. I don't take pleasure in making such a remark but I can see no other explanation.

The issue was NOT her appropriateness for reception of the Eucharist, but rather HOW this was discerned/determined by the priest. Her "worthiness" (or lack thereof, I should say)was never in question. This is a canon law issue. It has to do with protocol and such that needs to happen prior to denying someone the Eucharist. When it comes to canon law, I defer to braniacs like Dr. Edward Peters. I'm sure he'll come out with something on this soon. Let's not rush into judgement on this.

Does this ditz think electricity is socially constructed, too? Sorry, mi hija, heteronormativity goes all the way up and all the way down.
Or to quote Confucius' commentaries on the Canon of Changes, "One yin and one yang, this is called the Way."

The Archdiocese has behaved badly in this. The treatment of the priest is appalling, and giving a false message to Catholics and the general public.

Shame on the bishop and the cardinal who were on the side of satan on this one. A public apology to the priest is in order.

I hope Thomas Peters' father (Edward — the canon lawyer and general mouthpiece for the bishops)gets the message and updates his opinions. He had the temerity to lecture priests about how wrong they were to even consider denying Holy Communion to this lesbian woman.

Sean, Dr. Peters was selected by Cardinal Burke (no slouch when it
comes for sticking up for the Church) to be one of six advisors to the
Apostolic Signatura, the only layman so chosen. He's one of the best
authorities on canon law that we have in the States.
It's not fair to him to characterize him as a "general mouthpiece for the
bishops". He's merely giving his expert legal opinion on what the 1983
Code of Canon actually says on such matters. He's not the person we
should be angry with here– save that for Miss Johnson and those men
in the chancery who folded in the face of her manipulations.

Clinton:
Cardinal Burke did nothing to prevent priests from offering Holy Communion to pro-abortion "Catholic" politicians when he was the Archbishop of St. Louis. We're tired of prelates who TALK a good game but do nothing when they have the authority and the opportunity to do something.
Dr. Peters had been asked by a priest friend to assist him in his canonical battle with his bishop (who at the time was a Cardinal Archbishop of a major See in the United States). He never heard a word of response from Dr. Peters.
Read between the lines: You don't get appointed to the Apostolic Signatura if you've a history of tackling the hierarchy.

I suppose some of these comments against the pastoral actions and decisions of our hierarchy are rooted in the introduction and continued abuse of the use of extraordinary administers of Holy Communion in our parishes. From this, how quickly and easily we seem to fall into the ideas of invalid Eucharistic Minister self ordination (priest), invalid episcopal self ordination (Bishop), or even canonical expert and lawyer.
Until this is all sorted out, I'm quite content to trust and submit myself to the decisions and actions set forth by our Magisterium in this matter. After all, it is they that have been given the keys to the kingdom of heaven. Whatever they bind on earth shall be bound in heaven, whatever they loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
