A group of liberal women are putting together a Sex strike for Obamacare.
The women’s group “Liberal Ladies Who Lunch” is going on a sex strike called “Access Denied: Sex Strike.” The event, which is scheduled to take place between April 28 and May 5, features a poster saying “If our reproductive choices are denied, so are yours.”
The group describes their motivations on the event’s Facebook page, saying, “In truth, if we lose our hard won rights to medical care, birth control and pregnancy choice, it won’t only affect women. Men will have to go back to the days when they waited for or paid for sex. This issue impacts all of us. This strike is designed to make that point. Ask your man to speak up for your rights, because when we lose our reproductive choices, so do they.”
Wait. I thought abstinence was an unrealizable goal. It’s good to see liberal ladies abstaining though. Hey, if they could abstain more often, then they wouldn’t need us to pay for their contraception. Keep up the strike ladies.

This is the funniest thing I've read in a long time. Between Matthew and Tom Peters today I'm definitely not suffering from irony-deficiency. Ah well, maybe these "ladies" will find some self respect while they're out on strike. (Spoken as a formerly contracepting Catholic, who found her self respect after throwing out the pill.)

LOL, I certainly won't object.

Can someone please tell me about the terribly dark days when women had no access to health care and had to struggle and fight to obtain it? What a bunch of clownish, spoiled brats.

How is "not requiring religious organizations to pay for your contraception" anywhere near "los[ing] our hard won rights to medical care, birth control and pregnancy choice"?
Pregnancy choice? Seriously? That's a serious phrase?

Did you hear the one about the Democrat Representative in St. Louis the introduced a bill that Obamacare not pay for vasectomies?
She thought she was being soooo clever. She actually made the bishop's point.

Motherhood is not a choice when one has become pregnant. One will be a mother forever and ever even if the baby is aborted.

Truly laughable. How can they not see that their argument has reduced the status of women to a "reproductive choice"? Imbeciles.

Wow. A whole week.
So what I read between the lines is: due to the "hard won rights" women have achieved, men today have a right do demand sex immediately.
And why throw in "or paid for"? Will these sex camels acquiesce if men open their wallets?

I'd need to take a look at these women before the cost/benefit analysis can be adequately quantified.

I think their abstinence initiative is completely a win-win idea!

I'm proud of these ladies and also have concern about their mental well being. On the proud side it is about time these liberal feminists embraced abstinence and recognize it is the only sure-fired, 100%, authentic, effective contraceptive. Regarding their mental well being……these gals still don't get it. They can shut down and hide under the bed if they want but I'm betting the men in their lives who share the same low set of moral values will simply go down the block for a hook up with some dolly who shares same low moral values they do. This just illustrates a couple of the many fruits of the proliferation of contraceptives Humanae Vite warned us about; promiscuity and marital infidelity Wakey wakey girls you are now reaping what you have sowed.
