A federal judge asked this week if maybe the Ten Commandments could be reduced to six, you know to take all the God-ness out of them.
Judge Michael Urbanski was overseeing a case where a school board was being sued for displaying the Ten Commandments.
After raising many pointed questions about whether the commandments pass legal muster, the judge referred the case to mediation – with a suggestion:
Remove the first four commandments, which are clearly religious in nature, and leave the remaining six, which make more secular commands, such as do not kill or steal.
School officials argued that the display is not religious because it also includes historical documents such as the Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence.
You know, I know they’re trying to win the case but I can’t stand that argument. Because that leads to stupid requests like this one by the judge. If it’s not about God, then why can’t the judge just edit them down?
Of course, the Ten Commandments are about God. This reminds me of those folks who argued last year that a cross should be able to stay in a military cemetery because it wasn’t religious.
In order to keep religion in public, we should stop trying to make it less religious. Christianity is supposed to change the world, let’s not make Christianity more like the world.

Oh my. Maybe a better suggestion would be to change the title to Ten Suggestions?

Sad to see the Judge is of Polish descent. One of the things impressed upon me by my mother was that her father was most proud of two things being Catholic and being Polish.
He reflects poorly on his parentage.

Here's a compromise (sort of like Obama's contraception "compromise") The school can keep all Ten Commandments, but they have to add extra phrases to clarify them for today's liberals:
1) I am the Lord thy God, thou shall have no other gods before me, Barack H. Obama.
2) Thou shall not take the name of the Lord thy God-King in vain, and especially shall not point out the similarities between the HHS mandate and Nazi policies.
3) Remember the Sabbath Day. It is the only day thou has freedom of worship.
4) Honor thy father and mother, and remember the government is thy father and mother.
5) Thou shall not kill, unless it is a blob of tissue or a child under two, who is not yet fully human.
6) Thou shall not commit adultery, unless thou has the government pay for thy contraception and thou revere Sandra Fluke. (What?!)
7) Thou shall not steal, except from Catholic institutions that do not wish to pay for contraception.
8) Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor, unless thy neighbor is conservative.
9) Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's wife, unless thy neighbor's wife is conservative and thou wishes to humiliate her.
10) Thou shall not covet thy neighbor's goods, unless thy neighbor is the one percent.

Go him one better. Cut it down to two. "You shall love God with all your Heart and all your soul, and you shall love your neighbor as yourself."

Catholics accept that without works, faith is dead, but the error of modernism is that "social" works w/out faith can lead to good (“social” justice). After all WE are not Caesar, Cleopatra, Alexander the Great, Herod, George III, Mussolini, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Castro, etc.: we are religious, MSWs, school teachers, professors, doctors, nurses . We work for the government, the Church, or in “non- profits”. And yet the fruit of "social" Catholicism – modeled by social “pastoral” worker priests who no longer minister or serve God first by leading worship and offering sacrifice to Him at an altar, but turn to the creature and gather them about himself (the priest) to feed at a trough (table/manger)—are “social” Catholics who “attend church for family celebrations and other important events"* and a just (“great”) society that kills 50 million babies (in U.S. alone), routinely euthanizes or starves to death parents, disabled, and sick (“hospice”), assisted "suicide" laws, (all while eliminating the “death penalty” for criminals as unjust), a national health care law that contains death panels and mandated taxpayer funding of contraception and abortion, “wrongful life” suits, organ harvesting laws, legalized sodomy, pornography, prostitution and gay marriage, gambling, 41% illegitimacy and 50% divorce rate, AIDS, syphilis and drug epidemics, caring about and saving the planet (instead of caring about and saving souls). It is the “social justice” educated Catholic vote that has enabled and produced this faithless, evil doing, and hellbound society. The heart of Catholicism is not the “Roman Catholic Church”, but God.

God is not pleased. Earthquakes Wars Floods tornados terrorist attacts all examples of God telling his children to return.

George Carlin suggested this years ago. The judge is obviously stealing Carlin's material.
