Here’s CMR’s list of The Top Ten Christmas Songs By Jewish people.
1) Neil Diamond-Joy To The World (Neil actually has two Christmas Albums! The chutzpah!)
2) Barbra Streisand– O Little Town of Bethlehem (‘Cause remember, Christmas is all about Barbra)
3) Barry Manilow – Winter Wonderland (But to be fair what didn’t this guy sing? I think his next album is going to be reggae with UB40.)
4) Madonna – Santa Baby (I know she speaks with an British accent now but she’s still Kabalah, right? That qualifies. I think?)
5) Mel Torme -Wrote and Sang “The Christmas Song. (Loved that dude on Night Court.)
6) Irving Berlin – (Wrote)”White Christmas”
7) Phil Specter – (Wrote and Produced Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” (Stay tuned for next year’s CMR list of Best Christmas songs written by murderers. I think Specter will qualify. OJ hasn’t made a Christmas album yet, has he?)
8) Kenny G -Silver Bells (As if the holidays weren’t depressing enough this guy might just push you over the edge. In fact, this guy might have killed more people than Specter.)
9) Sammy Davis Jr. – Christmastime All Over the World (Cool maaaannn. Really coooool.)
10) Al Jolson – Santa Claus is Coming to Town (This isn’t the best version but Bruce Springsteen isn’t Jewish, what do you want from me?)

Winter Wonderland doesn’t actually mention the C-word. Although it must be for Christians, since I don’t think Jews would want to be married by Parson Brown.

Ryan said it first; I’ll second him as a chorus! Jews gave the world Christmas, after all!
