I’ve always gotten a kick out of pro-aborts who complain that Republicans want the government in the bedroom while they themselves tell people what to do in every other room in the house. (Although I still don’t understand how making it illegal to kill babies is a “bedroom” issue.)
We get a lot of nasty grams from Ron Paul lovers and libertarians in general mainly because we’re not libertarians. But I must admit that pro-life Senator Rand Paul points out the hypocrisy in questioning an administration official rather well.

Why did pro-life Rand Paul vote against the House-approved long-term budget bill that contains the Pence Amendment de-funding the Planned Parenthood abortion business?

Brian because it was supposed to cut spending but only reduced the increase of spending. He's more than happy with defunding planned parenthood, I assure you, and would vote to do so with or without any other provisions. However, he wouldn't extend spending at the rate we are on. By NOT approving the spending Planned Parenthood is equally defunded — everything is.

Fair enough. Thanks for the response.

My guess? Rand Paul didn't like the Budget. By tacking the ammendment to a Budget Bill he was having to vote on money as well. He probably didn't like the budget bill. DeMint also voted against it. I have to say though, I am sorely dissappointed in them. I understand if the budget wasn't what they wanted, but a chance to defund Planned Parenthood? That is when they need to see the bigger picture. Stop the genocide.

Um, no, it's not 'fair enough' when we're talking about abortion. Abortion trumps economic issues. You know that, surely. He's not pro-life.
Don't be fooled. He's so willing to lie that he'll commit forgery. http://www.lifenews.com/2010/04/22/state-5015/
I'm a Kentuckian. I wrote in Trey Grayson's name for U.S. Senate because I don't vote for people who commit forgery to smear Kentucky Right to Life in the press. http://www.lifenews.com/2010/04/22/state-5015/
Every major pro-life organization supported it…..and Rand Paul did what Rand Paul does. He threw the pro-life movement under the bus to make himself look like he has a principle.
Because that's what Rand Paul does.

Thanks for commenting Lisa. I actually got the info from your blog about his vote and was trying to be gracious since I am not very well informed about the vote.
I appreciate your perspective.

Lisa, where has our support of standard Republican "pro-lifers" gotten us? The thing to do is start by getting to the point where states can enact pro-life legislation if they choose and not have the federal govt (any branch) stop them…we had a so called pro-life President and Republican house and senate and got no closer to getting rid of abortion; but let's assume for a moment that the pro-life Tray Grayson's of the world will outlaw abortion on demand…it would only last until social progressives retook power. We need to get back to a system of govt. that respects the principle of subsidiarity and that is why Ron and Rand Paul are good for the pro-life movement.
