A state Senate candidate in Virginia who works as a high ranking administrator at a Catholic college has come out fervently for abortion rights and same sex marriage, a conflict of interest which the school doesn’t seem to have a problem with.
State Senate candidate Barbara Favola, who is not Catholic, but works as Senior Development Officer at Marymount University, details on her campaign website that she “strongly believes that same-sex couples should enjoy the same rights, benefits and responsibilities as their straight counterparts…She has in the past, and will continue to support efforts to legally recognize same-sex marriage by both the Federal and Virginia government.”
She also references herself as a “lifelong pro-choice advocate” and touts NARAL’s endorsement….
