This White House is just so nasty and condescending. They make my skin crawl.
You’ve got to see this video of Jay Carney insisting that there are “no Constitutional rights at stake” in the HHS Mandate. Watching this makes me want to throw something across the room.
Yeah, the bishops are ALL WRONG. Yeah, the presidents of those colleges who are suing the administration are ALL WRONG. Every congressman and Senator who’ve signed onto legislation to stop the administration from trampling religious freedom to death are ALL WRONG. Just Obama and his sneering mouthpiece Jay Carney are right.

"This approach does not signal any change, at all, to the administration's approach on conscience exemptions."
You got that RIGHT! The only people who would think Obama has changed are those who have been trying to pretend he is something he's not.

It will not be enough to just retire him in November. This alone will not remove all the damage his administration has afflicted on this country. He has taken away our rights. He has trampled on the Constitution, and he is not eligible to serve as president. Only removal from office will remedy our need for law and order.

We have to start breaking stuff.
February 1, 2012 at 9:19 pm
Let me get this straight. There are things you have covered in insurance that you don't have to use. Your rates are cheaper for having it (since babys' are so expensive) covered. And you think this is taking away religious liberty? My Catholic boss has abortion/birth control/sterilization covered and he isn't having kittens about it. Are you just so spoiling for a fight, ANY drummed up SLIGHT by Obama is "fighting words"?
February 1, 2012 at 9:20 pm
Yeah. I saw it yesterday and it did make my blood boil. I told husband about it but didn't make him watch. Very saddening to see how little some people value their integrity.
February 1, 2012 at 9:56 pm
It would have made my blood boil, if it weren't so amusing that the complete tool had to READ the policy as his answer because he's clearly in over his head when it comes to defending it.

That press secretary has a whole Dilbert vibe goin' there. Notice how he doesn't make eye contact.
February 1, 2012 at 10:16 pm
Dear Anonymous,
The fact that your Catholic boss chooses to participate in sinful behavior by his passive acceptance of funding it through insurance policies is in fact his business. Forcing even one person to do the same when it violates his or her religious beliefs is a direct violation of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States. That's the long answer. The short one is, "Duh."

What…they've been working with religious groups? Since when? And what groups. Certainly non the understand the Church.
February 2, 2012 at 12:13 am
Obamas state worship isn't being established as a state religion outright…he's just tweaking other religions until they conform with his state worshop.
No biggie. No Constitutional rights to religious freedom (it doesn't give us rights, it limits the STATE). But there are Constitutional limits on what the Federal gov't can do…..not that anyone cares about that G-D piece of paper any more.

Osama Obama is up to no good.

#Osama Obama is up to no good. So true and a great line:)

So, exactly where is giving you options in your insurance a first amendment violation? Please be specific.
The only people affected here are the Sanctamonious people that have insurance thru a quasi-religious organization ie: school, hospital, college or daycare. If you have real morals, drop your insurance rather than have options you don't want to use.
Mysterious: nice that you resort to name calling. Real class.
(The word Sanctamonious was used to be a hypocrite to Mysterious).

"This does not direct *individuals* to do anything…" Wait–who does he think does the actual DOing in businesses, corporations, organizations…?? Does he really think if the corporation "does" it, the people directing said corporation are thereby innocent??
February 2, 2012 at 1:21 am
The Bishops have only themselves to blame.

And I love how he seems to think that "discussion" (by itself) is a solution. No need to actually make changes or *fix* anything–we can just keep "discussing"… until what, we hug and make up and realize we've forgotten what we were mad about in the first place?
Also, can I just say: When EJ Dionne takes issue with something the Democrats are doing, they have a problem!! Wish they would listen to him.

So they just want to make sure that everyone is COVERED for abortions and all that jazz, which is a very GOOD thing, as many people may not have any money for it. It does not say that you must have abortions, it simply says that the service must be available, if you choose to use it.
Just because YOU dont like it doesnt mean its WRONG.
you all just have your panties i a knot. Get over it.
February 2, 2012 at 3:33 pm
I totally agree. What they don't understand is that they can always choose to provide themselves with their own health care and the problem is solved. You know, practice what they preach for everyone else. Your right, their are some very sanctimonious people here.
February 2, 2012 at 2:23 am
Anonymous, why should I pay for something I don't think is right? I'm sure you wouldn't want to pay someone to do something you thought was wrong or immoral. Why aren't the Catholics allowed the same? We just don't want the ones to be providing the tools. If they don't like it, can't they work somewhere else?
February 2, 2012 at 2:53 am
Dear Anonymous:
"It does not say that you must have abortions, it simply says that the service must be available, if you choose to use it." A Catholic or a Catholic organization who makes the service available via insurance is cooperating in evil should that service be used. Forcing a Catholic organization (or any organization that has a conscientious objection to contraception or abortion) to provide coverage for a service that it teaches is intrinsically evil is a violation of the Catholic Church's free practice of the faith. It is WRONG. The Church's schools, hospitals, and service agencies are practicing important aspects of the faith. They are not just a business.

My Catholic blood’s definitely boiling, though the barrage of lies and outright denial from our federal government about violating our religious rights doesn’t surprise me. Thank God for the Mass and a Church that stands by what is truly promoting life from conception to natural death, not just when it’s popular, convenient, or okay with the president and current administration to do so!
