I asked my wife to marry me on top of the Empire State building. That way, if she said no I could’ve thrown her off and nobody would’ve ever known. This guy should’ve thought of that.

The lady may not have been ready to be pressured into marriage consent, if it all was not staged. How the gentleman handles the scene will determine their relationship, but the "I could have thrown her off (the Empire State Building) and nobody would have known the difference" threw me. Can't wait to get into an abusive, homicidal relationship.

Well, ask Matt's kids if they're in an abusive, homicidal household.
Ob second thought, don't.
(It may have been staged, and it wouldn't have been the first.)

I'm truly wondering if it was all staged. Something about it just seems off.

They do this all the time at basketball games. It's staged.

I'm for staged. This is not very nice TV and another dump on men brave enough to offer themselves in marriage.

If staged, it is a sad cry for help by the powers that run this part of the show, that they are selling pain as entertainment. If real, it is also a sad cry that the woman MCing did not back off big time and that the cameras felt the need to film the guy leaving. Either way, it is a mess.

Hey, this is not a situation that requires complicated moral analysis. It's just the golden rule. If you were publicly humiliated, would you want other people to watch it? Would you want other people to post it on their blogs so that a lot more people could watch it? Don't let the internet numb you to common human decency.
